Homestyle BiscuitsThese biscuits are delicious! They have a little hint of sugar in them that really rounds out the flavor. It is a really simple recipe because all of the ingredients are found in your pantry. We are sure you will love the slightly sweet, buttery taste. A perfect addition to any meal!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup cold margerine or butter
  • 3/4 cup cold milk

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 425 F Mix first 4 ingredients together in a bowl.
  2. Cut in butter with a pastry blender or a fork, or two knives, until crumbly.
  3. Add milk.
  4. Stir until it forms a ball.
  5. Add a bit more milk if necessary to make a soft dough.
  6. Roll or pat to 1 inch thick.
  7. Cut into circles with a biscuit cutter or a floured glass.
  8. Arrange on a greased baking sheet.
  9. Bake in 425 F for about 10- 12 minutes or until risen and nicely browned.

  5. These were delicious! I’ll definitely make them again. I will, however, omit salt. I don’t usually use any salt when cooking/baking, so next time I’ll just omit it. They were flaky and tender!

  6. I tryed these biscuit twice and both times they were dry, how do you think I can them moist?

  7. These were so good. They’re so tender and flakey and that little bit of sugar made them a great biscuit for breakfast. Everyone wanted seconds.

    Then, we put extra sugar and some cinnamon in the next ones we made and they were almost like little cakes. Top with a little butter and cinnamon and mmm. We got the idea from my grandmother who used to make very sweet biscuits for her kids and this recipe was absolutely perfect for that.
